My name is Chaley Morrison and I am an author from West Virginia in the United States. I’m 23-years-old and graduated in the year 2020. Since then, I have been searching for what I want most in life and that is to add my own drop of writing into a sea of vast literature. Growing up, I’ve had to face many challenges that has made me the person I am today; from developing Scoliosis in the fifth grade and coming back from it to discovering I have a currently un-diagnosable Autoimmune Disorder my freshman year of high school, being in and out of several doctors’ offices and struggling to keep up with school work kept me home and isolated which presented other struggles.

Despite that, I haven’t let it deter me from chasing my dreams. I have been writing stories since 2006 when I was only 5-years-old, entering into my school’s ‘Young Authors’ competitions with stories I’d written. While dabbling in my love for writing, I experimented with other career options as I got older. My other passion aside from writing was and will always be Art. Painting, sculpting, traditional drawing or digital - it did not matter to me and I was very interested in becoming a Graphic Designer or Art Therapist. As that fell through with a new interest in Computer Systems, I convinced myself to try and pursue a more conventional career as I entered high school. While in high school, however, I noticed I had a very strong draw to Virology in my science classes. For those who don’t know, Virology is the study of viruses and how they work. This, accompanied by my love for the horror and paranormal genres, sparked my very first novel idea.

As I stated previously, I started writing stories in 2006, entering these stories into my school’s literary events and competitions. Growing up and listening to my mother talk about her love and passion for writing inspired me and soon enough I was branching out into novels and honing my skills as a writer in 2015 with the very first draft of my first novel idea. As I’ve grown as a writer, I’ve gravitated towards the darker genres of literature. In 2011, I started practicing my hand at horror with my first short story inspired by classic slasher movies. Since then, I have been experimenting with horror, suspense, and mystery.
